In Flying #2, Alexander Petrov portrays a sense of complex emotion through the use of tones of white, yellow, burnt sienna, charcoal, and black. Petrov accents both light and darkness through his palette of light, bright neutrals, deep charcoals, and strong black. Petrov also accents intentional structure through linework. His composition demonstrates influences of Russian Constructivism, where works were created not to express beauty, but instead modern life. ~ Nicole Garnett, Student at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Master of Arts in Art Business.
