Elizabeth Williams’ iconic style of courtroom illustration meets one of the most recognizable contemporary trials in Tekashi 6ix9ine on Witness Stand Testifying at Trial of the Bloods Gang Members. 40 Centre Street Manhattan Federal Court House. The testimony of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine during the trial of alleged members and associates of the Bloods, otherwise known as the “Trial of the Nine Trey Gangsters,” blew up on national news. The testimony captured the attention of viewers due to the high profile of the defendants, as well as the striking image of Tekashi 6ix9ine on the stand before a court of law. William’s renowned talent for capturing such critical moments in the courtroom provides a powerful window to the 2019 trial, as she depicts 6ix9ine with his distinctive demeanor, including his tattoos, without compromising her consistent artistic style. Williams represents the contrast between the traditional New York courtroom and the somewhat untraditional character of Brooklyn native 6ix9ine.
