Jenny Sharaf is an artist, curator, and cultural provocateur living in San Francisco, CA. Her paintings, installations, videos, and happenings celebrate process while reflecting on art history, feminism, California counterculture, and Abstraction. Sharaf is strongly influenced by the Hollywood vernacular, in part because of her family's history in the film and television business and growing up in Los Angeles. She received her B.F.A. from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, and her M.F.A. from Mills College, Oakland. Sharaf also has a strong mural practice, with walls as far as Tokyo and Beirut. Recent solo exhibitions include California Promises, Air Project Gallery, Geneva; Jenny Sharaf, Haw Contemporary, Kansas City; Painted Portals, Portal Point, Tokyo. Sharaf lives and works in San Francisco. Jenny has also done collaborations and projects with major brands such as Nike, Google, Vans, Bang and Olufsen, Ace Hotel, Stance, Capital One, NYMag / The Cut, Garret Leight, GF Smith, Offshore Snowshapes, and more.
