Barden of Penn Yan, Yates county, New York, either advertising medicinal products or from patients asking for remedies, from as far afield as Alamosa Colorado (two postcards signed by the Rev. Amos BANNISTER, ordering medical supplies, one bearing the ink stamp one of the church he built, St. Thomas in Alamosa. Colorado).

Amos Bannister (1859-1931): Born in Manchester. England ... Son of Amos and Catherine (Pearron) Bannister. Educ. at Manchester, England; Grammar School (lower Moseley St.). 1865-70; Grade and High Schools, N.Y. City. 1873-78; tutor. 1879: Gen. Theol. Seminary. Chelsea Sq.. N.Y. City. 1879-82, where he became a Sacred Theology Graduate. On June 4, 1882. was ordained Deacon by Bishop Horatio Potter. Ordained Priest, Dec. 16. 1883. by Bishop Spalding. In business in N.Y. City 1876-79; organist of All Saints' Church in New York, 1879-82; Curate of same church, 1882-83; minister in charge of St. Thomas' Church, Rawlins, Wyo., and acting chaplain of 7th Regt., U.S. Infantry at Ft. Steel, Wyo., 1883-85; chaplain Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Wyo., 1885-86: rector St. Thomas' Church, Ala-MOW Col., 1886-92; rector 1893 to 1906, and pres. from 1906 to 1907. Delegate to Pan-Anglican Congress at London, England, June 14 to 24. 1908; S.P.G. (Eng.), special preacher and speaker. June 10 to 25. 1908. Built churches at Rawlin Wyo., 1884: Alamosa, Colo. 1889; La Jam Col.. 1889; Monte Vista, Col.. 1890. Founded mission at Saratoga. Wyo., 1885. Built rectory in Beaver ails. Pa.. 1903. Initiated new organ enterprise at Barrington Pariah, Cambridge, Eng. (since consummated), 1908. Member and first essayist f Pittsburg Clerical Union: member of Deaver 'alley Country Club; Parian Lodge, No. 662, .F.&A.M.: Harmony R. R. Chapter, No. 206, and of the Beaver Valley Commandery, No. 84 .T. Married, Nov. 30, 1885. Elizabeth Reach Booth (born in Maryland). Four children: Pearsons son, Amos Harold. William Booth. and Cortlandt.
