A pair of French Louis XV style giltwood fauteuils, each featuring a cartouche-shaped padded backrest surmounted by a hand-carved floral and foliate cresting rail, serpentine-fronted upholstered seats flanked by open padded arms on sinuous accontent supports, and carved cabriole legs terminating in scrolled whorl feet, with all elements integrated with matching striped textile upholstery and brass nailhead trim

Condition

Overall good condition; heavy and widespread loss to the painted and gilded finish across both frames revealing extensive underlying gesso and raw wood substrate, with one armrest exhibiting minor structural looseness at the joinery while the overall structural frames remain sturdy and functional for seating use
