Description
An antique Caucasian Shirvan Marasali prayer rug of rectangular form featuring an ivory field decorated with a lattice design of stylized blossoms and polychrome "flaming" boteh motifs, surmounted by a prominent angular mihrab (prayer niche) containing characteristic bird-like figures, all enclosed within multiple borders including an inner reciprocal trefoil guard and a main ivory border of stylized vining florals, bearing an aesthetic consistent with nineteenth-century regional production, measures 4 ft 6 in x 3 ft 3 in.

Condition
The rug is in overall fair condition, exhibiting generalized surface wear, localized areas of significant pile thinning to the foundation, and minor fading to the dyes, alongside fraying and losses to the overcast selvedges and end fringes, would benefit from a cleaning
