An antique Persian Afshar rug of rectangular form featuring a stacked arrangement of two interconnected hexagonal medallions in ivory and madder red on a deep indigo field, each medallion containing geometric cruciform motifs and stylized floral elements amidst a field densely populated with tribal figures and rosettes, all enclosed within a multi-layered border including a barber-pole inner guard and a main border of repeating rosettes and serrated leaves, the piece bearing an aesthetic consistent with late 19th-century nomadic production, measures 5 ft 7 in x 4 ft 5 in.
