Leiden: Officina Plantiniana apud Franciscum Raphelengium, 1591. 2 parts in one volume, small octavo (6 x 4 ins; 152 x 102mm).. Pp.[i-xvi]; 1- 297; [i-vii]; [1-]3-23[-24]. Greek and Latin text. (Outer margins of preliminary leaves [ix-xii] shaved into the marginal notes). Early 18th-century calf, gilt lettering to spine (extremities a little rubbed, spine chipped at foot [see images)..
The first edition the Pseudo-Aristotelian text De Mundo ("On the Universe"), by the Flemish humanist Bonaventura Vulcanius. The treatise is here accompanied by the Latin versions of Apuleius and of Guillaume Budé as well as the exhaustive comments by Vulcanius. The second part consists of two Greek texts, Gregory of Cyprus's "Praise of the Sea" and Paul Silentiarios's poem on the "Hot Springs of Pythia" .
