Description
Arthur Crouch (American, b. 1898) Gouache, yarn hair, painted and cut and applied paper, canvas and plaid fabrics, tied feather fly fishing hooks in hat band. "1940" on hat band. Overall blue painted background. Signed in block stencil letters LR. Crouch was a popular magazine artist of 1930s-1950s, most notably Collier's Magazine. Often used yarn to illustrate ladies hair. Gold finish wood frame. (LATO4048)(JP)
Dimensions: Sight 20 5/8" x 15.5 framed 22.25 x 17.25
Condition
Possible loose paper strand of fishing net; looks like small blotch mildew/mildew fibers on one ferrule of fishing rod. Some wear to frame. Glue residue in spots from overglueing or re-glueing.
