Ray BRADBURY (1920-2012). Dark Carnival. Sauk City, WI: Arkham House, 1947. Octavo (7 3/8 x 5inches; 187 x 127mm).  Pp. [i-viii; 1-]4-313[-314]. Original black cloth, gilt lettering on spine, dust-jacket in red and black with a photo-montage design by George Barrows (browning of endpapers, dust-jacket clipped, with slightly rolled upper edge, insignificant rubbing on ends of spine, small rub on lower fore edge of the front jacket, 3mm band of dust soiling top and side of the back inner flap.)

An excellent copy of the first edition of Bradbury's first collection of stories, according to the colophon 3000 copies were printed. The book's interior is bright and clean. The jacket includes a biography of Ray Bradbury and George Barrows on back cover flap. Currey  p.44
