A large Burmese kalaga tapestry of rectangular form, the black cotton background densely embellished with high-relief, padded (shwe chi doe) figures of deities, courtiers, and animals in various narrative registers, the entire field and ornate medallion border intricately hand-embroidered with metallic threads, sequins, and glass beads.
