Art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. Frames, lampshades, or items described as “supplementary” are not considered integral to the value of the lot and are excluded from condition assessments. This includes any mat, mounting, glazing, hanging apparatus, case, box, or stand. Timepiece movements, lighting elements and items with mechanical or electrical components have not been thoroughly tested and are not covered under warranty by Capsule.

Known for his vibrant depictions of California swimming pools, portraits, and landscapes, Hockney has continually reinvented his practice, embracing new technologies from Polaroid collages to iPad drawings.
He studied at the Royal College of Art and received numerous awards including the Royal Photographic Society's Progress medal and the Lorenzo de' Medici Lifetime Career Award of the Florence Biennale, Italy. His work is represented in major museum collections worldwide, including the Tate, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Centre Pompidou.
