Description
HAMDEN, Ct. - Enos DICKERMAN (1800-1892, of Hamden, Ct) and his extended family. - [DICKERMAN & DOOLITTLE families, and others] a collection of 19 letters and documents, some manuscript, some letterpress and manuscript, including land purchase agreements, other legal documents, manuscript lists and bills relating to the work done by Enos as an executor of his father’s estate, letters to Enos from relatives who went west to Ohio. [1802-1864]. Various sizes. (Some damage, some separated at old folds, all legible).
Enos Dickerman jnr was born 4 Jul 1800 in Mount Carmel, Connecticut, the son of Enos Dickerman snr (1775-1854) and his wife Mary. Enos married Harriet (1806-1891), the daughter of a neighbor, Caleb Doolittle (before 1773-1838) in 1823. Harriet’s mother Lucy (about 1778-18128) was the daughter of John Humphreville (aka ‘Umfrevile’). The relatives who moved west wrote from Berlin and Brunswick, Ohio. (a lot)
