[Isle of Skye, Scotland] two photographs of the people of Skye at work. [Scotland: undated], two mounted albumen print photographs, both captioned in the negative 1. ‘Washing Day, Skye. 5782. G.W.W.’ (6 ½ x 9 ½ inches; 165 x 242mm); 2. ‘Grinding Corn in Skye. 5781. G.W.W.’ Condition: faded, backed onto card, some wrinkles, one repaired tear [see images]. Despite the obviously posed nature of these images, they still manage to give an impression of the harshness of the crofter’s life. (2)
