Description

An abstract pop art maquette featuring a multi-layered geometric assembly, composed of a single piece of acrylic constructed with a diagonally angled section screenprinted with alternating red and blue stripes and an integrated wavy, curvilinear cream-toned upper section, mounted securely onto a fitted aluminum wedge base, executed in aluminum and acrylic, created in 1966 as part of the Hybrid project collaboration by Gerald Laing and Peter Phillips from an edition of unknown size, possibly 10, with its design specifications generated via an IBM computer at Bell Telephone Laboratories following consumer preference polling, 7 1/2 x 11 x 2 1/2 inches.

Overall good condition; minor surface wear, faint oxidation to the aluminum wedge base, and light scuffing to the acrylic element consistent with age and handling, surface dirt along top edge
