About this Lot
Description
This Salmagundi work of art is titled, "3 Nested Schooner" (Salmagundi Club Collection). Signed, lower right. Oil on canvas. Image Size: 15.5" x 19" Framed Size: 19.5" x 23.5" Joseph Barr was the founder of Barr and Barr, Inc., a construction company that built many buildings in New York and Boston, including Rockefeller Center. He was a member of both the Salmagundi Club in 1932 and the Camp Fire Club, a retreat for sportsmen and artists in Chappaqua, NY, at the same time as Carl Rungius.
