A Lonhuda Pottery Faience Art Ceramic Ewer (19th Century)
Description
A Lonhuda Pottery faience art ceramic ewer, featuring a compressed globular body under a dark brown and olivaceous standard blended slip glaze, hand-painted with a cluster of yellow roses and green leaves beneath a short neck fitted with a loop handle and terminating in a crimped, asymmetric tricorn pouring spout, the underside bearing the impressed factory mark LONHUDA over the LF shield monogram alongside shape number 218 and an incised artist monogram, 8 3/4 inches high.
