This lot is comprised of three gouache and ink on paper works: Label affixed to verso reads "Physicians Attending an Ailing King (From a Shah-Nama of Firdausi), 16th Century, Safavid Dynasty, Nastaliq Script, Shiraz School" image: 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches One with following narrative affixed verso: "Kai Kaus (a pioneer in aviation) attempts to fly to heaven by fastening young eagles to his throne. (The eagles endeavored to reach the haunches of mutton stuck on the points of four spears at the corners of the throne and thus raised to the sky; but the eagles before long became exhausted, and then Kai Kaus fell from aloft, but escaped death)", image: 9 3/4 x 6 1/2 inches One with a depiction of a solitary figure against script, image: 8 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches
