Description

[probably sold by Joseph SPITHOVER (publisher of photographs, active 1850s-1870s).

[Rome: ] Temple of Vesta. [probably 1860s]. Lightly albuminized photographs (7 3/8 x 9 5/8in; 187 x 244mm.), laid onto original publisher’s thin card mount (13 1/8 x 19 7/8in; 333 x 505mm.). Penciled title and signature to verso of mount. Condition: see images. Provenance: Annie C. Clarke (removed from a portfolio, part of a larger collection made by Annie C. Clarke during her tour of Italy).
