A Steinway & Sons Model K upright piano bearing serial number 505496 featuring a figured mahogany or walnut veneered wooden case with a folding keyboard fallboard that opens to reveal the maker signature and eighty-eight standard keys, the internal structure housing a premium spruce diaphragmatic soundboard and cast iron plate frame, together with an accompanied rectangular wooden piano bench with a matching polished finish
Wood, mahogany veneer, cast iron, steel, felt
52 1/4 x 61 1/4 x 26 1/4 inches
From a Private Collection
Good overall condition; instrument is in fair tune having not been tuned in a few years, though all keys strike; light surface scratches, minor edge scuffs, and expected faint superficial fading to the wood veneer finish on the cabinet casing and bench legs, with the mechanical action and soundboard remaining structurally intact

Condition reports are based on visual inspection by the Capsule team under typical office lighting. Unless otherwise noted, items are not examined under UV light in advance of sale. We do not guarantee the content of written or verbal condition reports. Remember, all lots are previously owned and all sales are final. The absence of a condition report does not imply that there are no condition issues with the lot.

Frames, lampshades, or items described as “supplementary” are not considered integral to the value of the lot and are excluded from condition assessments. This includes any mat, mounting, glazing, hanging apparatus, case, box, or stand. Timepiece movements, lighting elements and items with mechanical or electrical components have not been thoroughly tested and are not covered under warranty by Capsule.
