About this Lot
Description

[ARKHAM HOUSE, publishers]. - A.E. VAN VOGT (1912-2000). Slan.  Sauk City, WI: Arkham House, 1946. Octavo (7 ¼ x 5 inches; 183 x 127mm). Pp. [i-vi; 1-]4-216[-218] . Original black cloth, the spine lettered and decorated in gilt, dust-jacket by Robert F. Hubbell of Los Angeles (endpapers lightly stained,  dust-jacket in fair shape, with light wear at top and bottom of spine and some age toning [see images]).

First edition in book form with a print run of 4000 copies. “Slan” is the third vol. in the series of Arkham House Novels of Fantasy and Terror. The story first appeared in four parts in 'Astounding Science-Fiction' in 1940. Currey p.400.
